INSTALLATION PROCESS: 1. Preparation: This step involves "scratching" the existing kool deck ® in order to remove any loose existing kool deck or other material. If the existing surface is still in tact it usually only requires a pressure wash to clean the surface of dust, oil or other stains. 2. Kool Deck® : Application of the acrylic overlay is a process that takes typically one day. The acrylic is mixed in 5 gallon buckets and applied with an electric sprayer. The final coat is then troweled to give the final finish. 3. Paint: Your choice of kool deck® paint is applied next. There are 8 colors to choose from. Typically, a color that goes well with the color of the home and other surroundings in the backyard is chosen so that your pool deck complements its surroundings well. 4. Clear Coat Protection: If flagstone acrylic is selected the fourth and final step is the application of the protective clear coat. Clear coat protects your new pool deck from stains and the elements. If a spill occurs, simply wash the deck with mild soap and water and brush the stain away. Lace style pools typically do not get a coat of "clear" because most often homeowners will want to re-paint their kool deck. If a sealer is applied to the new acrylic your fresh coat of paint will not adhere well to the sealer. 5. Enjoy! In as little as 24 hours after the final step your new kool deck is dry and ready for enjoyment. FACTS ABOUT KOOL DECK® : It withstands the test of time.
